MEET YOUR TEACHERS

Justin Chase is in his 11th year as choral director at University High School. He was the 2005 – 2006 University High School Teacher of the Year. Mr. Chase is a Nationally Board Certified Music Teacher. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from The Florida State University and a Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Central Florida. He was a 2001-2002 finalist for the Walt Disney World Teacheriffic Award and the winner of the 2008 Grand Bohemian Excellence in Arts Education Award. Mr. Chase is also involved in the drama department at UHS, serving as the musical director for school musicals and composing original music for one-act competitions (most written by Melaney Douglass, one of University High School’s drama directors). He is the current chairman of the district 8 chapter of the Florida Vocal Association. His wife Gail Chase teaches drama at University High School. He has two children: four year-old Jackson and baby Griffin.

Brigitte Emenheiser is in her 3rd year as associate choral director at University High School.  In addition to teaching chorus classes, Ms. Emenheiser teachs three sections of piano in a state-of-the-art piano lab on the Freshmen Campus. Ms. Emenheiser holds a Bachelors degree in Music Education, Magna Cum Laude, from The Florida State University. Ms. Emenheiser is the sponsor of the UHS Chapter of Tri-M Honors Music Society, a club designed for students who pursue excellence in music and community service. She currently serves as the FVA District 8 Treasurer under the leadership of the district chair. She is an accomplished pianist as well, and has accompanied numerous high school/semi-professional musicals, District/State MPA, All-County festivals, District and State Solo and Ensemble, and several local and state choral/vocal competitions since she was 13.
