IB Music

So, for those of you who were not at our meeting yesterday, here is what was covered:

We went over the musical investigation paper for IB Music. As a reminder, this paper is to be completed independently - I will give you guidance but YOU must be the one motivated to complete the assignment.

Our next class meeting will be Wednesday, March 19th due to the FCAT testing next week (we actually voted on this).

By MONDAY, MARCH 10th you need to give me the following (the best way is to email it to me by clicking here):

1) The names of the two pieces of music you will be focusing on for the musical investigation paper. Remember, they must be from two DISTINCT cultures.
2) The mass media format you are planning to use for this project - powerpoint, website, radio call-in show, play, original opera (have fun, Michael Duke) or anything else creative. This is IB Music, so a certain level of creativity would be appreciated.

Below are four examples of musical investigation projects (the ones we covered in class). Look at them to discover what you SHOULD and SHOULD NOT do.

Below are documents from IBO about the music examination in general. Here is the original document that is the outline for the IB Music Curriculum:
Music Guide (2002)

The document below offers in-depth information on the Musical Investigation paper. It would be in your best interest to complete this paper before the end of this school year - it will be one less thing for your to worry about next year!
