Handbook MaterialsA. Voices: Vocal health is extremely important for singer of all ages and abilities. This will be discussed and reinforced daily in class.
C. Financial Responsibility: The AMMS Choral Department request that a $10 donation be paid to help cover the cost of music, transportation, and other various items needed to maintain the Choral Program. This donation is substantially lower than many other area middle schools. Students are also required to purchase a Chorus T-Shirt and Uniform and described in the uniform section. D. Uniforms: Please read the uniform guidelines carefully. The way we appear on stage (messy, sloppy, clean, neat) sends a powerful message to our audience. What would you like that message to be? All Students: You will need to purchase a chorus T-Shirt for $10. This shirt will be worn during our first and last concerts tucked in along with blue jeans and sneakers. The jeans must not have any writing on them or holes and the sneakers must be laced up if they have laces. The T-Shirts will also be worn during various field trips during the year, if it is not a performance based trip students will be permitted to wear shorts. 2nd and 6th Period Girls: You will need to rent a black chorus dress for $25. In addition to the uniform, students must wear BLACK DRESS SHOES (closed toe, closed back, 1 inch heeled pumps). All necklaces, bracelets, watches, and BIG earrings (or piercing in any place visible besides the ears) must be removed for the concert. Only tiny stud earrings may be worn in the ears. Girls must only wear only black barrettes, hair ties, etc. hair must be worn up, back and away from the face for all performances. 4th and 5th Period Girls: You will need to purchase a blue and black formal dress through the choral department. This is a new dress this year thus used dresses are not available. The cost of the dress is $70. In addition to the uniform, students must wear BLACK DRESS SHOES (closed toe, closed back, 1 inch heeled pumps). All necklaces, bracelets, watches, and BIG earrings (or piercing in any place visible besides the ears) must be removed for the concert. Only tiny stud earrings may be worn in the ears. Black dress shoes and socks will also be needed and is the responsibility of the student. Black tennis shoes are NOT allowed. All necklaces, bracelets, watches, and BIG earrings (or piercing in any place visible besides the ears) must be removed for the concert.
