Mrs. Rivard is a third-generation native of Orlando, Florida. She grew up with her parents and three sisters. The schools she attended were Kaley Elementary, Pershing Elementary, Fern Creek Elementary, Winter Park Junior High, and Edgewater High School. As a kid she loved to read, write poems, swim, play outside, and cook with her mom. During her childhood she had cats, rabbits, fish, and Boston Terriers. Since her mom had been a biology teacher, there were also numerous bugs, spiders, and snakes that visited her house for short stints in jars.
