About Mrs. Smith

Hi! I am your child's art teacher! I see your student for 40 minutes on a rotational schedule of every 7th to 10th day, depending on your child's grade level. I graduated from UCF, Orlando with a BA in Art with a specialization in Art History, then with a MA in Art Education, also from UCF. Go Knights!! I have been the art teacher at LW since 2002. My teaching philosophy is two fold. First, I try to expose your student to multiple media, techniques and artistic processes to broaden their understanding of art. We also study art movements, styles, and artists, both historical and contemporary. Secondly, I align my curriculum to support what your student is learning in their general classroom while giving them the opportunity to explore art concepts that are new to them.
