About The Teacher
I have been a classroom teacher almost all of my professional career which is now 20+ years! I have taught grades K - 5, and before coming to Bay Meadows in 1998, I was a Reading instructor at Valencia and Seminole Community Colleges. It's great to be back with the younger students at such a wonderful school.
I am originally from Virginia and attended the University of Virginia for both my undergraduate and graduate diplomas, but definitely love the sunny, warm weather and consider myself a real "Floridian".
Professionally, I have a special interest in using Thinking Maps in my classroom and am currently a Thinking Maps trainer for our school.
In my spare time, I love to read and spend time with my pets. As an avid pet lover, I always have lots of dogs and cats as part of my household who keep me very busy!
