I was born and raised in Port Charlotte, Florida. I attended the University of South Florida in Tampa and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in Charlotte County in 1997 and had the experience to work in the same school system with my mother and father who were also teachers. In fact, my mother and I even taught at the same school, Peace River Elementary.
They are now both retired.
I moved to Orlando in 1999 and helped open Lawton Chiles Elementary School. I was a classroom teacher for seven years, teaching second and third grades, before going back to school to get my Masters degree in Instructional Technology at the University of Central Florida.
I was the Media Specialist at Audubon Park Elementary for two years prior to my position here. I became the Media Specialist at NorthLake Park in 2005. I took a leave of absence last school year to be a stay at home mom. My son , Colby , was born last August 2007 . I am excited to be back on staff this year and look forward to helping the teachers, students, and community of NorthLake Park.
I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, going to the beach and of course, reading!
