AR
Accelerated Reader
AR BOOK
Any book that NorthLake Park owns an AR
test for. Each book is rated at a specific
reading level, and is assigned a point
value depending on the difficulty and how many words the book has.
AR TEST
A computerized reading comprehension
test that students take on AR books
they have read. AR tests can only be
taken on school computers. Ample time
is given during class and Media Center
check-out times for testing. Students may not re-take quizzes they have previously taken.
AR POINTS
Each student has an AR goal based on
the AR Goal Chart. Students are given
many opportunities to accumulate AR
points. When they reach each level in
the goal program, they receive prizes.
The AR Program keeps track of tests
taken and points earned. Teachers periodically send home AR reports to help
parents stay informed of their students’
progress.
