Spelling Words
I will be giving a spelling list of 10 words. These words will be high frequency grade level words and phonograms. Part of their nightly homework will be to study those words to prepare for the test the following Wednesday. I will not be giving the traditional spelling test that consists of a word being dictated orally. Instead, I will be saying three to four sentences orally that will include the words on their current spelling list as well as any that have been given in the past. This is a way for the students to build their spelling vocabulary as we go through the year.
