Literature Circles
This year our class will be participating in literature circles. Literature Circles are guided reading groups where children are grouped according to reading levels. Students are assigned a different job and a group reading assignment daily. After the student reads the selection for the day and completes his/her job, they meet together with their group to participate in a book talk. Students are graded with a rubric so that they are aware of the expectations each day.
Accelerated Reader
(A.R.)
This year students will be reading books based on their reading level to earn points for A.R. Each book is assigned a different point value depending on the level. After reading each book, students will take a short comprehension quiz. New AR goal sheets will be sent home soon. You can access available quizzes at:
