Katharyne Daughtridge has been teaching fourth grade at Windermere Elementary for 15 years. She has been a resident of Florida for 19 years. She was born and raised in Rocky Mount, NC where her mother still resides. She graduated from Saint Mary's Junior College in Raleigh, NC and finished her BS in Education with a minor in English from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Following her marriage, she moved to Charlotte, NC where she taught middle school and upper school English, Photography and published the yearbooks at Providence Day School. She was also involved with the Writing Project affiliated with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, photography, sailing and watching sports. As a Florida resident she has become a University of Florida fan since her two children graduated from UF.
She is married to her husband John, and the mother of two grown children John III of Round Rock, Texas and Katharyne D. Gabriel of Atlanta, Georgia.
