About the Teacher
I graduated from Slippery Rock State University, in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Ed. and Special Education. My teaching career began with my first assignment...kindergarten in New Castle, Pa. In the subsequent years I have taught grades 1, 4, 5, 6, and finally 3rd. With each grade I was not only the teacher, but also, a learner.
Continuing to learn is the goal of most teachers, I decided to continue my learning by working toward National Board Certification. This is a long process often taking up to three years. I received National Board Certification in 2005. On a more personal note, my husband and I have four children. They are all professional adults now. We moved to Florida in 1980, when they were all in elementary school and have been in Orlando since 1983. I taught in a parochial school for five years before entering the Orange County School system in 1988. The greatest joys of my life are my four grandchildren. I also enjoy reading and socializing with my family and friends. |
