ACCELERATED READER
The Accelerated Reader program is for students in first through fifth grade. AR allows students to take a test on books they have read to check for reading comprehension. This is a great tool for students, parents and teachers to monitor reading performance. Students are expected to earn 70% or higher on all quizzes. Each book is assigned a point value based on difficulty and length of the book. The students earn points all year long. At the end of each grading period, they may "spend" their AR points at the AR store (see pictures below). Students also earn chains and metal tags when certain point levels are reached.
