Hola, soy Mrs. Rosario. ¡Bienvenidos a Kindergarten! Yo estoy muy emocionada por todas las cosas maravillosas que vamos hacer este año. Les quiero contar que este nuevo año escolar, el programa de doble inmersión va a ser una gran experiencia para todos. En este programa su niño/a tendrá la oportunidad de aprender en dos idiomas – ingles y español. ¡El primer año fue una experiencia inolvidable! ¡La escuela Union Park es una escuela excelente! Estamos muy orgullosos de ser una escuela "A". Tenemos una administración y maestros muy dedicados a la educación de todos nuestros niños. ¡Yo se que trabajando juntos, podremos hacer el primer año de su niño/a en Union Park exitoso y memorable!
Quiero contarles un poco acerca de mí. Este será mi octavo año como maestra y el tercer año que trabajo en Union Park Elementary. Este año escolar 2007-2008 será mi segundo año enseñando español en el programa de doble inmersión. Yo nací y crecí en Nueva York. Viví en Brooklyn y luego en Staten Island. Mi equipo favorito de béisbol son los New York Yankees. Me encanta el mantecado de chocolate y el marisco. Mis autoras favoritas son Esmeralda Santiago, Julia Alvarez, y Alma Flor Ada. En julio 2005 me mudé a Orlando, Florida con mi esposo y tres hijos. Vivimos en East Orlando en la comunidad de Avalon Park. Mi familia es de Puerto Rico. Recibí mi bachillerato de Brooklyn College y la maestría de New York University en TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, que es enseñando Ingles a personas que hablan otros idiomas) y en educación bilingüe. En mi tiempo libre me gusta estar con mis hijos haciendo cosas divertidas. ¡Estoy anticipando conocerle y trabajar con usted y su niño/a este año! Hello, I am Mrs. Rosario. Welcome to Kindergarten. I am very excited about all the wonderful things we will be doing this year. I want to inform you that during this new school year, the dual language program will be a great experience for all of us. In this program, your child will have the opportunity to learn in two languages – English and Spanish. Our first year was unforgettable! Union Park Elementary is an excellent school! We are proud to be an "A" school. We have an administration and staff of teachers highly dedicated to the education of all our children. I know that working together we can make your child’s first year at Union Park a memorable one!
Now, a little bit of information about me. This will be my eighth year teaching and my third year at Union Park Elementary. This upcoming school year 2007-2008 will be my second year teaching Spanish in the dual language program. I was born and raised in New York. I lived in Brooklyn and then in Staten Island. My favorite team is the New York Yankees. I love chocolate ice cream and seafood. My favorite authors are Esmeralda Santiago,Julia Alvarez, and Alma Flor Ada. In July 2005 I moved to Orlando, Florida with my husband and my three children. We reside in East Orlando in the Avalon Park community. My family is from Puerto Rico. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College and my master’s degree from New York University in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and in bilingual education. In my spare time, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my children doing fun things. I anticipate meeting and working together with you and your child this school year!
