Thinkers' Workshop

What is Thinkers' Workshop?

Thinkers' Workshop is a once-a-week thinking skills training class. The main objective is to provide exposure to thinking skills training to learners who have demonstrated a need for developing their thinking skills and have demonstrated a need for additional learning opportunities outside of the regular curriculum.

Thinkers' Workshop is an informal service, based on exposure to thinking skills, and is not a formal learning environment, (planning and assessment are not provided).

The group meets for 30 minutes in Miss Kelly's portable (P-9). Thinkers' Workshop is a school-based service and is not part of the Gifted program.

Who attends Thinkers' Workshop?

Participation in Thinkers' Workshop is determined by the classroom teacher. Teachers are welcome to send any students who they feel are in need of thinking skills training. Unless previous arrangements are made, teachers should send no more than 3-4 students each week. (Identified "gifted" learners may not attend this class.)

What's the 2007 - 2008 schedule?

Thinkers' Workshop (3-5): Fridays from 12:30 to 1:00.

Thinkers' Workshop Jr. (K-2) Fridays from 11:15 to 11:45.

Occasionally the Gifted Program will have needs which preempt Thinkers' Workshop. When that is the case, Thinkers' Workshop will be cancelled.
